Heart of Los Angeles provides a structured pipeline of exceptional academic support and enrichment programs from elementary through high school into college and career success. Classes are aligned with Common Core Standards and in-school material when possible to ensure their matriculation and school readiness. Youth are provided with focused homework help and tutoring, enrichment activities and classes, field trips, parent and in-school support and much more. These efforts are led by qualified teachers and volunteers who provide students with individualized support in an effort to equip them with the tools and resources necessary to succeed both academically and socially. Beginning in middle school, HOLA introduces a focused college-prep curriculum that intensifies as students matriculate into high school. As juniors and seniors, students participate in a rigorous college access program including mentorship, application workshops, SAT and ACT test preparation, college tours and more. After graduating, alumni are further supported by HOLA's College and Career Success Program that administers a robust scholarship program and provides students with the support they need to ensure college retention, matriculation and graduation, as well as myriad resources to ensure career-readiness and placement.

HOLA’s core academic programs are supplemented by educational enrichment programs that expose students to a plethora of engaging and innovative opportunities, including a dynamic music and youth orchestra program, an intensive and sophisticated visual arts department, premiere sport leagues and clinics, leadership and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) classes. HOLA also recognizes that its youth and families face myriad challenges and are often in need of additional resources and boasts a formal counseling program led by an on-staff Licensed Clinical Social Worker, as well as a Parent and Community Resource Manager that works to facilitate community involvement and elevate parent engagement.
